Top 25 News Stories (March 27, 2024)

EDITOR’S NOTES

1. We do not link To Fox News or Fox Business News.

2. We sometimes link to Fox affiliates.

3. We sometimes link to sites that contain a video that might have a snippet from Fox News.

4. We try to avoid second hand news stories that are sourced from Fox News or Fox Business News.

5. We try to not link to sites with pay walls. This eliminates NYT and WaPo (who cares?) but also eliminates WSJ and Epoch Times. We hope that Epoch Times changes their business model because they are one of the best news outlets in the English language.

6. We believe it is more important than ever for Americans to monitor world affairs. The most influential man in America is probably George Soros and he is not in America–nor is he an American. Other understated influences on America include World Economic Forum, BBC, and CBC, to name but a few.

7. Most English language newspapers in non-English speaking countries are paid subscription sites. This presents an ongoing challenge to report on world affairs.

8. We try to avoid linking to mainstream media when possible We are not hesitant to link to mainstream sources if the news story involves raw data, such as the daily stock market or weather statistics or sports scores. Even then, we usually provide a “Mainstream” disclaimer.

The Fall of Critical Thinking

“Critical thinking” is not so much an educational invention as it is a distillation of the intellectual tradition of rational, skeptical inquiry into concepts and claims. Famous for his probing questions about the assertions of those around him, the Greek philosopher Socrates was one prominent embodiment of that approach. Though I had never heard the term critical thinking (which I will abbreviate as “CT”) during my formal education, I immediately recognized what it was.

However, that opportunity to strengthen the role of CT in education has been lost. To a great degree, this promising development has been replaced by fashionable, irrational ideology and indoctrination into trendy causes.

Literal Godsend? Trump Gets $3 Billion Gift Days Before Huge Bond Due

Wake-up Call

The two traditional political divisions, liberal and conservative died with Covid. Now there are simply the sane versus the insane. The sane have had enough of being pushed around by the insane. The insane don’t register much of what reality tries to tell them. They have a body of insane ideas to comfort and protect them from the reality’s rigors. To call that body of ideas an “ideology” is way too polite.

That the insane call themselves “progressive,” is a signature of their insanity. Progress toward what better state of things? Toward a supremacy of fiends, sadists, degenerates, and morons seizing riches and power by every dishonest means possible outside the rule of law and common decency? It’s not even suitable to call them “communists.” They lack the necessary idealism for that. They don’t expect to put their shoulders to the wheel with their fellow man. They just want to grab your stuff and then kill you so they don’t have to hear any complaints.

There’s A Deadly Race War Raging In America

At the same time, we had the Pentagon, the White House, and practically every news organization in the country telling us that white nationalism is the single biggest threat to the country and that blacks were in constant danger. The left has done to whites what the Nazis did to the Jews, what the Japanese did to the Chinese, and what the Hutu did to the Tutsi… dehumanize them, make them into the Other, the ones towards whom no humanity need be shown. Once that mindset is absorbed, there are no limitations on what can be done to members of the target group.

The second component is that black Americans have been told by Democrats that they cannot succeed. Regardless of what they do, they are incapable of success in America because of white oppression. As such, the rules need to be changed for them—most critically, the elimination of consequences for crimes. Essentially, the argument is that given that blacks cannot find success when they behave properly, society can’t punish them for behaving improperly.

Ketanji Brown Jackson Defenestrates the First Amendment

This, apparently, was of greater concern to Jackson than the revelations that the Intelligence Community held ongoing meetings with social media companies to coordinate censorship demands, that the White House explicitly demanded the censorship of journalists, and that the Department of Homeland Security was instrumental in manipulating citizens ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

But according to Jackson’s outlook, those facts may have actually been encouraging. She scolded counsel, “Some might say the Government actually has a duty to take steps to protect the citizens of this country.”

The Social Pole Switch

Naomi Klein is the world’s leading expert on disaster capitalism. Covid represents the most extreme form of disaster capitalism in history. During Covid, Klein abandoned her work on disaster capitalism to support the fascist Trudeau administration as it inflicted disaster capitalism on Canadians at the behest of the World Economic Forum. Social pole switch.

Nassim Taleb is the world’s leading expert on “black swans” (rare events with catastrophic, sometimes systems-destroying, outcomes). The development and release of SARS-CoV-2 and the mRNA vaccination campaigns are quintessential examples of black swan events. During Covid, Taleb abandoned his work on black swans to claim that we all must obey the policy makers who created these black swan events. Social pole switch.

Noam Chomsky wrote the book Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media. The Covid response is the most extreme example of manufacturing consent in history with tens of billions of dollars spent on propaganda. During Covid, Chomsky abandoned his work on manufacturing consent to argue that the unvaccinated should be locked in their homes and starved to death. Social pole switch.

Another Democratic Scheme To Establish Absolute Political Power

Put another way, by Dune author Frank Herbert, “Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, absolute power attracts the corruptible.”

And thus we understand why the Democratic Party is overflowing with the most wretched people imaginable. It’s a party that draws in the worst among us in much the same way communism attracted the Lenins, Stalins, Maos and Castros.

The kakistocrats that captain the Democratic Party are so lacking in principle and so filled with villainy that they are using illegal aliens as pawns in their scheme to establish unopposed, unchallengeable power.

How can we know this? Because not a single Democrat voted last week in favor of an amendment from Tennessee Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty that would allow only citizens to be “counted for the purposes of allocating congressional districts and electoral votes.”

When Hagerty offered the amendment, “the Democrats just went nuts,” he said. New York Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer “threatened to shut the government down.”

WORTH ANOTHER LOOK

Cash For Clunkers: RCR Stories (YT) Editorial: Cash for Clunkers was one of the worst ideas in the history of enacted ideas. It showcased the Left’s instinct and impulse and reflex to destroy, in this case, used automobiles. The taxpayer woukld take a hit no matter what, but why not distribute the vehicles to poor people or use them to bolster the GAO fleet? Instead, the cars and trucks were deliberately trashed, setting off a used car shortage across the country. Destruction with no upside. None. All wrapped in a bow of self-congratulation and media praise for the innovative Obama Administration. Cash for Clunbkers was idiocy in action.
