The Road to Serfdom — 2024

Fearful they are on the verge of losing everything, Democrats are implementing an all-out assault on American elections.  Some years ago, Rush Limbaugh said Democrats resent having to persuade people to vote for them, because they consider themselves to be morally and intellectually superior to voters.  The ultimate goal of Democrats, he believed, is to do away with elections altogether.  And in that regard, attempts to take Trump off the ballot in Colorado and Maine were the equivalent of the Confederacy attacking Fort Sumter in 1861, because it signified the start of what may become a second civil war.

Whether it’s Black Lives Matter, pro-Hamas protestors, or any of the other iterations of leftwing revolutionaries, they all believe in the four fundamentals of the radical left:  lying, cheating, projection, and violence.  Violence is their ace in the hole, because it’s their firewall if all else fails.  The need to use violence to achieve one’s ends was put into print by Marx and Engels, then put into actual practice by Vladimir Lenin when he ignited the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917.

How the CIA “Nurtures” Zelensky’s Ukraine

Okay. First, “Google” Vladimir Putin (or just Putin) and then hit the “news” tab. It’s a quick way to see what lies and propaganda “they” are putting out for the numbed readership in the States. BBC and others in Europe, The Telegraph, and so on feed the NATO alliance citizenry. You may not know it, but Google delivers what The Wizard of Oz wants sent out – first and second through the deep twentieth search pages. Those rumors the CIA made Google, Facebook, and some of the rest are probably accurate. Once you click the most ludicrous links, a second phase of discovery will hit each of you in the face. That is after you’ve read about two paragraphs in. This is where the “Who TF are these guys?” question will grab you.

In this case, Adam Entous got a chip in the game by feeding American readers crap about Russia meddling in U.S. elections. As for Michael Schwirtz, he was on a team that won a Pulitzer for spewing propaganda about those pesky Russians and their intelligence operations. Given these two Washington establishment bullhorn’s backgrounds, calling them “spooks” is not a stretch. Big surprise, huh? You don’t go to The European University at St. Petersburg in the middle of a studying at George Washington University because of a yearning for Russian culture. Both these reporters got paid to disseminate the idea Vladimir Putin personally tried to torpedo Hillary Clinton’s White House bid, and neither one of them bothered to whine and cry about Clinton’s and the DNC’s unscrupulous activities at that time. I could go on, but you can bet anybody who refers to the CIA nurtures anything but death and destruction is either a spy, a sellout, or a complete nincompoop. And neither of these journalists fits the “idiot” description. They both seem like the groomed type.

Politics as Lawfare

It rapidly becomes a grotesquerie of those who own the organs of justice passing you at 140 mph on the highway just as you get pulled over for going 67.

Whatever one feels about Trump, the truly relentless and unprecedented attacks on him by the CIA, NSA, FBI, Justice, and Congress and Biden/Obama/Clinton cronies alike is so far beyond the pale as to beggar belief. It’s past banana republic and well into farce as issue after issue turns out to be illusory, invented, or irrelevant.

Meanwhile inconvenient laptops, facts, and follies are swept from the internet and the docket alike. US justice and intelligence agencies circled the wagons right before an election and lied their faces off to the American people. “The laptop is a fake” made claims about “not having had sex with that woman” look like sandbox hijinks. That was real, no fooling around, bare-knuckle election interference. And no one has paid any price for it.

No one ever does.

JOHN STOSSEL: End Taxation Without Reason
No wonder most Americans pay for some form of assistance. We pay big — about $104 billion a year. We waste 2 billion hours filling out stupid forms.

That may not even be the worst part of the tax code.

We adjust our lives to satisfy the whims of politicians. They manipulate us with tax rules. Million-dollar mortgage deductions invite us to buy bigger homes. Solar tax credits got me to put panels on my roof.

“These incentives are a good thing,” say politicians. “Even high taxes alone encourage gifts to charity.

But “Americans don’t need to be bribed to give,” says Steve Forbes. “In the 1980s, when the top rate got cut from 70% down to 28% … charitable giving went up. When people have more, they give more.”

Letter from CPAC – Outspoken with Dr Naomi Wolf (substack.com)

All of these new leaders had enterprises that were punching, culturally, above their weight, in the sense that all of their enterprises were startups, or are tightly staffed; they are not funded by huge PR or publishing or tech conglomerates.

I had just finished reading In All His Glory: The Life and Times of William S Paley and the Birth of Modern Broadcasting — and I felt I was seeing a modern version of what the book describes as the emergence of the networks of radio in the 30s and 40s, and then of television in the 1950s. Paley too, in his day, had been a brash young man with a vision, and only a handful of outlets, when radio was new. I felt, in listening to the young men plan and joke and analyze and argue, as if I was looking at the future of what will be someday perhaps one half of America’s culture and communications.

They spoke with focus, and planned their strategies, even as the drinks continued to arrive.

I was seeing, I realized, one of the nodes of a new America in the making; a new set of related cultural and telecommunications nerve centers being incubated, developed and extended, by talented, stubborn young men —who simply would not go along with censorship, or with the “othering” of ideas.

They had the ferocity of young men expressed in a new way, in a new generation; but I heard also something familiar and timeless. There was a color and sound in that ferocity that I recognized from my travels to police states around the world; it was the color and sound of dissidents in a community of dissidents; in an actual, not a metaphorical, cultural war.

The American Loneliness Phenomenon

I have known people who, because they died alone, weren’t discovered for several days. “Wellness checks” are another aspect of the “new normal” that we all know and love in America 2.0. A close friend who undoubtedly would have been in such a situation had, I guess you’d call it the good fortune, to drop dead at a restaurant one morning in 2016. Otherwise, it would have been me calling the police to check on him, after not hearing from him for a few days. Like too many, he had several siblings. I saw how little they cared about him at the memorial service, as they kept furtively checking their watches. Like so many other lonely people, he deserved a better fate.

A Vision for a New Liberalism

Let’s indulge in a little thought experiment: suppose we had a magic spaceship that could transport anyone we wanted to a paradise in another universe. Fauci, Gates, the whole WEF, all the billionaires you don’t like, anyone Novak Djokovic nominates, and so on – all shipped off and parked somewhere out of sight and out of mind, never to return.

What does one expect to happen to the organisations that these people led on the day after the top dogs have permanently exited stage left? What does one expect their think tanks, their heirs, their education systems, their legions of enabling bureaucrats, their millions of co-opted intellectuals, their political parties, their woke universities and their gentlemen’s clubs to do? And what should one expect to happen to the traumatised, atomised, woke youth they leave in their wake?

The fantasy that just getting rid of ‘The Enemy’ will provoke a spontaneous outbreak of constructive thinking and fellowship among those who remain, a kumbaya moment of brotherly love and cosmic insights, is woefully misguided and puerile. Team Sanity must, on the contrary, think like adults. We are living in real history here, not Return of the Jedi. The system, along with the sheep ‘The Enemy’ created, will keep on going just as before, with others in charge who look very similar and who would rush to fill the vacancies left by their predecessors.

Just How Alienated Are Our Masters and Commanders?

Yes, he has rhetorical skill, but there is more going on than pure demagoguery.

We look for writers in the corporate press who seem to understand why. They’re hard to find. Most writings on this topic attribute it all to a wave of cult behavior, the rise of theocratic Christian nationalism, xenophobia, or just ignorance. Sure, there might be signs of this or that, but come on! At some point, one might suppose these people would consider the possibility that normal people are not keen to be forever ruled by a rarified elite that represents the powerful and rich and has no regard for the life aspirations of the regular person.

After the 2016 election, the New York Times sent out an apology of sorts about how they could have been so incredibly wrong. There was some effort to reform under the idea that it is supposed to be the nation’s newspaper of record and hence a downside to completely misunderstanding something so fundamental. But the mea culpa didn’t last. A new op-ed editor was hired and then quickly fired as woke reporters and management dug in with their desire to represent only one point of view.

Charlottesville and Trump: Will the Big Lie Finally Die?

But despite the clear transcript and video evidence exonerating Trump on this issue, many millions of Americans still believe that the 45th President was an open, brazen racist. For this reason, the Charlottesville lie represents perhaps the most damaging myth in American political history. It is hard to exaggerate the fallout from a lie as corrosive and racially charged as this deception.

This Charlottesville hoax surfaces often in American politics, and it formed the stated predicate for Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign for the presidency. Biden recklessly lied about Trump, stating: “The president of the United States assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it.”

Just last week, reporting from Politico Playbook explained that Biden privately refers to Trump as a “sick fuck.”  That animus, according to Politico writer and MSNBC talking head Jonathon Lemire, flows from this hoax: “what really sets Biden off about Trump… Charlottesville.”

The answer is actually quite simple. The ideological descendants of the same people behind the murderous Bolshevik Communist regime that brought unspeakable suffering to millions of Russians and Eastern Europeans (before engulfing China and SE Asia in a similar convulsion), are in charge of our Western Governments and institutions today. The same players, the same playbook, the same international goals. They don’t want you to know of the connection of course – because if you do, the similarities are so stark that you will take notice and be enraged. The Bolsheviks/Communists of today are just as determined, just as ruthless, just as efficient and likely much more powerful than their Soviet ancestors. We ignore them at our peril.
